Unit 2: Web Department

You've just transferred to the studio's Web Department. Every studio needs an online presence, and every employee needs a profile page — so over the next four weeks you'll design, build, and publish your own three-page portfolio site from scratch, one piece at a time. By the end of the unit it's live, it's yours, and it's the foundation you'll keep adding to for the rest of the course.

Your Studio Portfolio Site

Every site in the department follows the same shape — three pages that grow a little more each week:

• Home (index.html) — your avatar, a tagline, and your studio role. The front door to your profile.
• About Me — a short bio, your interests, and (starting Week 3) one interactive piece.
• My Work — a "coming soon" placeholder for now; it fills up with real projects starting Week 4.

All three pages, plus a shared /css, /js, and /images folder, come from your starter template — you're not building the folder structure from scratch.

How Each Week Works

• Monday — quick lesson + whole-class guided build, everyone typing along.
• Tuesday–Thursday — independent work through that week's task ladder: Green (core tasks), Blue (one deeper task, unlocked after Green), and the Black menu (optional extensions for early finishers).
• Wednesday — 15-minute Dig Lit mini-lesson.
• Friday — submit your project folder (zipped) to that week's Teams assignment. Whatever task you've reached by Friday is what you hand in.

Getting Published

Once your Friday submission is reviewed, your site goes live under the studio's Studio Directory — a running list of every employee's page, filling in week by week. Check the Directory once your first site is live to make sure your link works.
