Overview

Today's activity is a team relay called the Essential Skills Ladder. Working with your table group, you'll move through 7 checkpoint cards at your own pace — check in with Ms. Ahoy before moving on to the next one.

  • Build the same folder structure in OneDrive and on your H: drive
  • Download a file from a website, save it on purpose, and unzip it
  • Save and rename a downloaded file, a Teams file, and a newly created file correctly
  • Take a screenshot and insert it into a document
  • Attach multiple files to a Teams assignment and submit

Files You'll Need

Save them — don't just open them — into the folder your card tells you.

Quick Reference

Your Folder Structure

You'll build the same folders in two places:

OneDrive → Grade 8 → ICT 8 → 1. Essential Skills

H: → Grade 8 → ICT 8 → 1. Essential Skills

  • OneDrive — Word documents and anything from Teams
  • H: drive — downloads, media and game files

New Folder

Right-click an empty space → New → Folder, or press Ctrl + Shift + N.

Unzip a .zip File

Right-click the .zip → Extract All → Extract.

Taking a Screenshot

Press Windows + Shift + S, then drag to select the area. It saves itself automatically to Pictures → Screenshots — no need to paste it anywhere right away.
